Rai'an

A 25th-century scientist is sent to Japan in the year 1000 to avert a planetary catastrophe. Accompanying them on their journey are two miko (priestesses dedicated to the ancient worship of the kami). Set against the backdrop of a novel filled with adventure, action, and emotion, is a detailed and novel historical reconstruction of ancient Japan - mysterious and unknown, predating the samurai era by over 500 years. The scene is portrayed through the voices of the three protagonists, who take turns enriching the narrative with their unique perspectives, allowing the reader to engage with the stories told in the first person. An innovative novel, both in terms of the themes it covers, ranging from historical reconstruction to science fiction, and in its narrative technique.
