Gloria's parents noticed her love for words early. She was an early reader and wrote her first newspaper article in 2nd grade. That same year her teacher took interest and encouraged her to join the Young Authors Club. She has been writing ever since.
In high school, Gloria joined an after school Hip Hop Poetry Club. An encouraging teacher suggested that she enter a poetry contest. Gloria not only competed in that contest she won second place. That win motivated her to continue to competed in and win local and school wide poetry events.
Gloria continued her love for poetry when she entered college. With the help of friends, she started two on campus poetry clubs: F.O.C.U.S. (Freedom of Creative and Uninhibited Speech) and the Golden Mic Poetry Club.
Gloria is currently attending college to further her dream of becoming an Elementary School Teacher. She plans to use her love for writing to encourage her future students to pursue their passion and to allways keep their F.O.C.U.S!
