This is a historical fiction novella about the Civil War.It is for children who want to learn a little bit about the Civil War in a quick read. The novella follows the life of a fictional character named Prudence James and the struggles she has throughout her life. I think you might enjoy this book. Here is a excerpt of the book: "Don’t panic, don’t panic. I have the shakes. I start to feel claustrophobic. My forehead is dripping, why is this happening? I feel like I am gasping for air. What is wrong with me?!?!?!?!? What if they find us? What are we going to eat? Did we remember to throw the pepper? What if we die out here? I don’t want to die."
