My Bloodline Is The Crime

Born in America. Marked in Palestine. Heisam Imam was raised under the promise of liberty — an American by birth, a Palestinian by blood. But when he set foot in Jerusalem, that promise vanished. His passport couldn’t protect him. His name was enough to make him a suspect. In My Bloodline is the Crime, Imam delivers a raw, unflinching account of what it means to live between two worlds — one that claims to defend freedom, and another that denies his existence. From being detained at Damascus Gate for wearing a "Free Palestine" bracelet, to navigating checkpoints, surveillance, and second-class treatment, this memoir is a bold act of resistance through storytelling. What begins as a visit to family becomes a journey into the heart of occupation — and a mirror for anyone questioning identity, silence, and what it truly means to belong. This book is not just a memoir. It is testimony. It is evidence. It is the voice of a Palestinian American who refuses to be erased.
