Tuesday's Choice was written by Henry Romel Guy in 1994, during the first 35 days of a 100 day lock-down following a prisoner’s riot at the Greensville Correctional Center, in Virginia, where the author was an inmate after being convicted of Armed Robbery at 18. Guy decided to write Tuesday's Choice to deal with his emotions after the uprising, the worst in his incarceration. Guy used the backs of prison forms, old letters from friends, and anything else he could find during the lock-down to write the book until it was complete.Tuesday's Choice is a story about a single day, Election Day, in the Hilton Village neighborhood of Newport News, Virginia, 1996, where the author lived as a child. The characters face circumstances that approach subtly and entice them to respond.
