The World Outside

This is a monograph on tourism culture written by Sun Huaiyu. It introduces major countries representing Eastern and Western history and culture worldwide, divided into ten chapters covering Egypt, India, Greece, Italy, Turkey, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and Mexico. The book’s distinctive feature is that it presents each country’s major scenic spots, historical sites, notable figures, and cultural landscapes through an introduction to its history and culture. As the concept of tourism suggests, it begins with “travel”—the act of journeying and moving—and then proceeds to “sightseeing.”
