After four decades of gang violence in our nations cities, one would question if any concrete solutions to this crisis can ever be achieved. While billions have been spent fighting two wars half way around the globe in Afghanistan and Iraq, more lives have been lost here; in our nations homeland, than in both wars combined. I wonder, how disconnected are we from our external environmental dynamics, our education crisis and lack of political will? (Compton: My legacy to Rise Above the Odd’s), is a mere snapshot of an unfinished reality when people, aware of their incompletion were engaged in pursuit of a fuller humanity.
