Judy Lansdowne, separated from her problem husband,'Punch, is depressed, and unsure of herself ...until suddenly the phone rings and Judy is invited to Paris where her curvaceous looks and jokey personality appeal a variety of interesting characters, while she learns rapidly the inside of Paris circles: politics, films and tv, and some unpublished phrases, all of which changes her whole perception of herself and her future. The distinctive aspect of this story is the way Judy flits from one extreme to the other of French social society, while eating with glee and loving merrily.
