The Enchanted Well

An Tobar Draoidheachta or The Enchanted Well is a one-act drama by Rev Patrick Stephen Dinneen, better known for his work on the Irish dictionary. First published in Irish in 1904, the play is based on a legend of the lakes of Killarney. It was first performed in 1901, described as 'probably the best among plays acted in Irish that year.' In this reproduction of An Tobar Draoidheachta, or The Enchanted Well, it has been translated into English by Seán Ó Luanaigh and includes an introduction and biographical notice of Rev Dinneen.
