Published in 1910, Revolution and Other Essays is an anthology of non-fiction works linked by London's political convictions. In his socialist beliefs, London was not a man of intellect – though there can be no doubt that he was clever than most – his politics were borne of experience, and this is borne out in the essays here. Conversely, the essays also demonstrate London's rather naïve brand of racism which, like his politics, resulted more from his immediate surroundings and past experience with those of a like mind.
