We Choose the Moon

World War II was over the nuclear age and Cold Wars were heating up when in October 1957 the Soviets launched Sputnik. America feared the Soviets would militarize space. President Eisenhower would form NASA and incoming President Kennedy gave us a mission, put a man on the moon before the decade was over. "We Choose the Moon" chronicles our space program from its formation in 1958 up to 1969 when Apollo 11 returned to earth.
