Whenever I create a Salem Massachusetts calendar, I'm always thinking about the history of Salem. The historic town of Salem has many faces. From the Witch Trials of 1692 to playing a major role at the beginning of what was to become America. Salem Massachusetts has played a part in every chapter of America's story. From States Rights to Abolition of Slavery and it wasn't always easy to navigate through Salem's history. Many of us have direct ties to Salem's History. I have a direct link to the Witch Trials with an ancestor who was a witch accusor and I have another ancestor who did trade with the Derby family of Salem. Today, Salem is much more laid-back with wonderful little shops and places to eat, along with all the history being told daily. From the average shop owners to the rich sea traders, they all helped to build Salem into what we have today. Each step you take in Salem tells a tale of history.
