Who Made Who? The Roots Beneath Her Name is a documented genealogy and historical narrative of the Rousculp and Sims families, tracing multiple generations through early America, frontier settlement, and rural Midwestern life. Drawing from census records, land deeds, military service records, marriage records, family registers, obituaries, photographs, and other primary sources, the book reconstructs the lives and movements of the families across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and surrounding regions. The volume follows direct ancestral lines while also preserving the stories of collateral relatives, spouses, and descendants whose lives contributed to the broader family history. Particular attention is given to migration patterns, settlement communities, occupations, military service, religious life, and the changing conditions of American society from the eighteenth century into the modern era. Organized generation by generation, the book combines traditional genealogical documentation with historical context intended to place each family within the world in which they lived. Rather than presenting only names and dates, the work seeks to preserve the environments, challenges, and experiences that shaped each generation. Compiled and written by Jennifer DeVreese, this work was created as both a permanent family record and a historical preservation project for future generations of the Rousculp and Sims families.
