Grammaire Chaldéenne

ByJeremiah Maqdasi

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The Grammaire Chaldéenne is a Syriac grammar composed by Jeremy Timothy Maqdasi (1847-1929) while he was a monk at the monastery of Rabban Hormizd. He was later consecrated as a bishop and served the diocese of Zakho. This volume was printed at the press of the Dominican Fathers in Mosul in 1889 and serves as a good example of their printing in the Eastern Syriac script. Chaldéenne or Chaldean is simply the name that Europeans used to use to refer to any dialect of Aramaic, including Syriac. The contents of this volume are entirely in Syriac.
