Shadow of the Unconquered

Born of two worlds and claimed by none, Arthan is a man shaped by war, exile, and divided loyalties. His father, a Nubian soldier in Rome's service, and his mother, a proud Caledonian noblewoman, leave him caught between two heritages—and accepted by neither. Trained as both Roman legionary and tribal warrior, he learns the cost of empire firsthand: its cruelty, its hypocrisy, and the lives it devours in the name of "civilization." When Arthan meets Azelas, a North African soldier enslaved since childhood, he finds in him a kindred spirit. Together, they turn their backs on Rome and vanish into the wild. Among deserters, exiles, and freed slaves, they forge Nova Thalassa-a kingdom built on equality, freedom, and the dream that no one is born to serve another. But freedom carries a price. As the empire hunts them across the Mediterranean, Arthan and his companions face betrayal, loss, and impossible choices that will test the limits of their courage and the strength of their vision. From the mist-shrouded highlands of Britannia to the sunburned coasts of Africa, Shadow of the Unconquered is an epic tale of defiance, brotherhood, and the enduring fight for a world without masters-a story of love, loss, and the relentless pursuit of liberty.
