The Spirit Section

The Spirit Section is a songbook, archive, and field guide. Built around six original songs by Jess Godwin, the book brings together full rainbow choral scores, recovered conversations, photographs, found footage, and notes from the making of The Spirit Section—an archival music project that explores spirit loss, spirit reclamation, and everything messy in between. A note on the digital edition: The Spirit Section was designed as a full-size visual songbook, with scores, photographs, transcripts, and archival materials meant to be seen together on the page. For the best experience, read it on a desktop computer or tablet rather than a phone.
