Project Fake it until you make it is a compilation of 5"x8” postcards, typed on an old typewriter nearly every day to record, process and reflect on the choice to fully commit to being an artist.
Every day documents a different aspect, recurring themes arise, self-talk pervades as I remind myself of my intentions and sort through the psychological layers, the spiritual aspects and continually cultivate the conviction necessary to show up every day and create.
The phrase “Fake it until you make it” references the notion that in order to become something we first must practice, go through the motions and essentially pretend that we are the thing that we wish to be. Somewhere in this process of pretending, somewhere between setting intentions and the act of repeatedly doing, somewhere along the way a shift happens and we emerge as the thing that we saw ourselves being.
