It has the power to deliver experience to you: retirement, the past, and regret for the passing of time. If you have a friend or relative in that situation, it will help you gather a clearer idea of what they are going through. Some poems are clearly historic: in one piece, what it was like to camp ‘wild’ before development took over is captured. Others were written purely for fun, and there is at least one enigmatic poem in Moon Dreamer.
