Flames consumed the thatched roof above his head and burning ash rained over the skins that covered him. He looked for her, but she was gone. “Jason!” Her voice a shriek that pierced the roar of the flames. Armed men dragged her into the night. “Lavinia.” Jason jumped from the bed to rush at the intruders. Polished bronze flashed in the firelight and sharp pain pierced Jason’s chest. They meet in the summer of 1967 at Faneuil Hall in Boston where he attends a course on pastoral care. They quickly discover that they loved each other in the ancient Kingdom of Mycenae in a past life. Jason leaves the Church and they find peace in Buddhism, and in death know they will meet again.
