Rhino in the Ashtray

Alex Britton is almost 26 years old. He lives a mundane life, working in an office for an ogre of a boss and spends as much time as he can socialising with his friends on the off chance he might forget about it all. Unable to think about the opposite sex (or sex itself for that matter) without having a mild panic attack he is hopelessly infatuated with the gorgeous Cath. He has no idea how to tell her though. Nor can he explain why he has similar feelings for Adam. After he receives an inheritance from his Great Aunt Maud on his birthday, he reads the diary she wrote during 1924. He holidays in Greece with friends, has vivid dreams about talking animals and finds himself in bed with everyone except the woman he thinks he loves. Balancing his paranoia, inability to speak to the opposite sex and his fear of flying, Alex seeks guidance from talking hippos in his dreams and from the stories of fairies in his Great Aunt’s garden and slowly begins to understand who he is and exactly what he wants in life.
