The shadows day off

The Shadow's Day Off is a heartwarming and playful children's picture book written in rhythmic, rhyming verse. The story follows a dedicated shadow who is completely exhausted from trying to keep up with an energetic, bright red-haired little girl. Every time the shadow stops to catch its breath, the girl is already running off over hills, trees, and stumps. Frustrated and tired of having to "jump and go," the shadow decides it has finally had enough and goes on a much-needed solo vacation. Leaving the little girl behind to search for her missing companion, the shadow sets off to travel the world—swimming in the deep blue ocean, hang-gliding over tall trees, climbing massive mountains, and exploring dark caves. However, during these grand adventures, the shadow realizes that something important is missing. While traveling the world is exciting, the shadow deeply misses its partner. Realizing where it truly belongs, the shadow journeys back home to a joyful, twirling reunion with the red-haired girl, deciding that the best place to be is right by her side.
