"Balancing Act: Within Work and Family"

Did you know that the Society for Human Resource Management has reported that 76% of American workers are considering looking for another job? Furthermore, they estimate that 22 million new jobs will be created over the next ten years, but only 17 million new workers are available to fill these positions. Work expectations evolve with each generation, but the pursuit of work/life balance has become a central goal for every age in today's workforce. Baby Boomers are reducing work hours, while many 'Thirty-Somethings' establish businesses to gain more control over their lives and schedules. A recent study by the Families and Work Institute reveals that young workers entering the workforce are increasingly turning down promotional opportunities to achieve more excellent work/life balance. Why? According to the same study, work/life balance among these new entrants is a top priority for both genders.
