JP Hart has been writing all of his life, but has only recently agreed to offer his compelling short stories to the public. He has a gift for observing the common aspects of the American life and finding the poetry in what he sees and has experienced. Each of his stories takes a slice of Americana and adds his unique descriptions to bring out the literary beauty of even the simple things in life. JP Hart is a veteran who served in an air-refueling corps based in Milwaukee and was honorably discharged. JP Hart had been engaged to the daughter of a WWII veteran, a man who provided supplies to General Eisenhower’s D-Day troops, especially gasoline. The man who became his Brooklyn godfather was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and served from the shores of Africa to the South Pacific after Pearl Harbor. His godfather later became a bodyguard for President Truman.
His grandfather, Tony, served in John F. Kennedy’s PT boat fleet. During a night raid when moored to some island he had to fight back with his chef’s knives. His best friend, Uncle Johnny, was in Cuba during the Cuban Missile crisis. His mother’s team cracked the Japanese code before VJ Day and wept at Roosevelt’s eulogy parade. His immediate kin were career military, his uncle trained B-52 door gunners at Fort Sherman. His brother-in-law’s big brother was killed in action at 19.
