Anderson Daniels was born in Overton County, TN (1842-1914). Information found on him was obtained from his Civil War Pension File at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. This file provided a wealth of information on his family secret, where he lived, his neighbors, identifying of his mother and sisters as he was growing up in Overton County, TN. As well as his family hardships, to joining the Civil War as a Union Soldier, the unit he served under Co. E. 5th Ky. Calv., the battles he was in, his injuries he sustained during the war. After the Civil War ended, his journey home. Where it let him to Hawkins County, TN. There he met his wife Margrat Housewright. He stayed in Hawkins County and tried to make a living for himself and Margrat by working on the surrounding farms in the area. Eventually his war injuries would get in the way for him to make any kind of living, he applied for his Civil War Pension. The struggles he endured over ten years to get his U.S. Union Pension that was due to him. Then was taken advantage of by his court appointed guardian.
