Edge Detector and Principal Component Analysis for Face Recognition

The principle components are extracted from edge information. These principle components are used with classifiers to match the facial images for recognition purpose. In this study we have explored Canny and LOG edge detectors as standard edge detection methods. The combination of KL transforms and edge information will be a unique idea and helps to improve performance of the system and verified with the results presented in this work. This work presented in this dissertation work will provide the guidance for researchers in the area if image processing.
