Trouble in Ambas Bay is an attempt at finding the needle in the hay that has punctured the fabric of indigenous communities in the formerly colonized territories of the Cameroons. Ambas Bay is in the Gulf of Guinea, West Africa. Early Portuguese adventurers docked in Ambas Bay in the 16th century and found boatloads of shrimps in the estuary of the River Wuri. They called that area "Los Camaroes" (for shrimps). That is how the Cameroons got its name.
Trouble in Ambas Bay is a quick reference history guide with comments and questions to help any interested citizens to think about how today's woes began, and how to find a way to walk back and end the endemic dysfunction of systems, processes and policies that are supposed to help citizens overcome PCTS (Post Colonial Traumatic Syndrome). It starts from knowing what happened. Trouble in Ambas Bay is a good start.
