Forty tales. One very fluffy cat. Snowy has a star on her collar and absolutely no sense of bedtime. When somebody leaves the door open she takes it as an invitation, and she always comes home with a story. All forty of them are in here, in the order they happened, from the first ball of yarn to the long walk home in the snow. A weaving room full of lanterns. A spice market. A fishing harbor at dawn, an island shore, a carpet that flies over a sleeping city. Color them straight through like a story, or open the book anywhere and stay a while. Inside this book: 40 original hand-drawn scenes, each marked gentle, medium or detailed, so a five-year-old and a grandparent can share the same book Printed on one side only, so every drawing has a blank back and markers can bleed as much as they like A hidden star in every scene, the same one Snowy wears on her collar, with a tally page to color in as you find them 8 puzzles woven through the story: mazes, a matching game, spot-the-difference, a cat-fact quiz, with all the answers at the back A true cat fact at the foot of every page, checked against veterinary and zoological sources Large 8.5 x 11 inch pages with wide margins and bold, clean lines A blank page at the end for tale forty-one, which is yours to draw There is no right way to color this book and no hurry. Some pages are big and simple. Some will keep you company for a whole afternoon. A gift for cat lovers, a quiet hour for grown-ups, and a story for children who cannot read yet but can absolutely find a hidden star.
