Machine Learning for Application Layer Intrusion Detection

This book introduces theory and methods for automatic detection of unknown computer attacks in network communication. Based on concepts of machine learning and artificial intelligence, a framework for self-learning intrusion detection is proposed which enables accurate as well as efficient detection of unknown network threats. The book is a doctoral thesis and targets researchers and postgraduate students in the fields of machine learning and computer security.
