This is the complete score and parts for an overture inspired by Mervyn Peake's magnificent "Gormenghast" trilogy. The instrumentation is for
flute, clarinet, trumpet, two percussion, violin, cello, and piano. It is a "groove-based" work that is very listenable and challenging for the ensemble. Violin and trumpet are featured soloist, but in this size ensemble, everyone has opportunity to shine.
