William Hall went to Charleston in the 1790s. There he met and married Hannah Jacks. They married in Charleston in 1802. William was a merchant in Charleston. They returned to UK in 1815 with 6 children. They lost a 1 year old boy in 1809. George Otis Hall was born in Charleston in 1809. He returned to Charleston, to visit his Grandfather, James Jacks, in 1822 only to find that his grandfather had died. (George was just 13) To cut a long story short. George Otis Hall bought Magnolia Mound, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1849. It was a sugar plantation and the purchase included 55 slaves. In the 1860 census he had 79 slaves. He was married to Emma Ledoux.
