Leaves of a Lily

This anthology is a collection of work all originating from 2024 creative writing. The first piece titled “Smile Through” is a sense of place memoir, recording my memories on the Valpo football field. It dives into how the Vikettes dance team shaped a portion of my high school experience and some lessons I learned along the way. The second piece titled “10 Years Reunited” follows a fictional girl named Daisy and her reconnection with a boy she loved 10 years ago. It follows her past and present once she recognizes her lost love. The final creations are a series of poetry regarding memories at my grandparents house, “Summers spent in the Cul De Sac.”In addition, “Text Me When you get Home” highlights the struggles of girls in modern society. The final piece of this anthology is a historical fiction narrative poem, “Rising Waves,” a series of events during a brutal shipwreck. This anthology summarizes my best work and most proud creations that I believe my fellow classmates will enjoy, a physical memento of my hard work throughout creative writing.
