What if I Told You

I discovered poetry exactly when I needed it the most. In January of 2021, I received a poetry book for my birthday and I fell in love with the author’s style of writing. I was instantly drawn to way there didn’t seem to be many rules- if any at all. All I needed to express myself in this way was to let myself feel and let my words flow. Writing poetry quickly became my form of journaling. I wrote my way through a faith deconstruction, abuse, heartbreak, coming out of the closet, the dismantling and subsequent rebuilding of my life, healing, personal growth, and experiencing healthy love for the first time. It is my hope that my words will give you what you need in this moment- where ever you are on your own life’s journey. Whether you’re in need of encouragement, validation, or someone to simply stand by your side, hold your hand, and say that I’ve been there, I made it out, and you’re going to make it too. Whatever it is that brought you here, I hope my words help you find and feel what you’re looking for.
