Book 1 — Receipts & Binding
Nothing binds without evidence
Most harm does not begin with malice.
It begins with action that was never properly justified.
Receipts & Binding establishes the foundational rule of the BookCockpit Atlas: no action may constrain others unless it carries evidence that can be independently checked. Authority, urgency, tradition, expertise, and good intentions are not enough. If an action removes exits, transfers risk, or shapes the future, it must show its work.
This book defines what it means for an action to bind, what counts as a valid receipt, and why refusal and null action are not failures but essential safety states. It introduces time-decay, reversibility, and falsifiability as structural requirements—not ethical aspirations—and shows how systems fail when these are bypassed.
Written in calm, precise language, Book 1 is not an ideology and does not prescribe outcomes. It specifies constraints. It does not tell institutions what to do; it tells them what they must never do without proof.
Without this book, power drifts into narrative.
With it, unjustifiable action becomes structurally difficult.
Receipts & Binding is the load-bearing volume of the Atlas. All other books depend on it.
