
On March 10, 1952, General Fulgencio Batista stages a military coup and becomes the dictator of the island of Cuba. On January 1st of 1959, Batista leaves. Fidel Castro takes over and turns the country into a Communist police state. The Lobregat and Amadeo families' lives develop against the backdrop of these catastrophic political events that radically change the course of their existence.
