Twelve Times Heimat

Twelve short stories about the author’s world in the small towns and villages of her homeland, the North Eastern part of Greece, where river Evros forms a natural border with Turkey. Maria’s literary work addresses three themes in all her writing, a vanishing tradition of a life under simple rules of integrity and ethos, the role of the woman in Greece’s remote rural regions, and affection between man and woman, often unfulfilled. The book is translated in English from her Greek original manuscripts under her supervision and concurrence.
