REGARDING: Implementing Freedom of Speech, Press and Association in China.
Dear Sirs,
As Leader of the Global Community we aim to manifest Human Rights (UDHR), Child Rights (UNCRC) and World Peace in the Global Community.
There are certainly some very positive aspects about China. It's just that China is not a perfect society.
And just like any other human society – like America, Russia and Europe – China needs to evolve.
This includes honoring and upholding the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Statistics reveal an increase in juvenile crime in China. Thus, the State has established a strict system of juvenile criminal law: 99% of cases brought to trial end in conviction.
Chinese Children are often detained in the same prisons as adults without any separation; which is a blatant violation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In China, Children convicted to a rehabilitation measure in so-called "Work and Education" schools, have no right to be represented by a lawyer during the proceeding, or to appeal against their conviction.
In these schools, juvenile offenders are forced to work in factories or plants and they have no right to contact their families, which is a blatant violation of Child Rights (UNCRC).
We wish to emphasize that many young persons in Hong Kong are being subjected to police violence.
Here again, this is a blatant and unacceptable violation of the UNCRC.
China is a state party to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is unequivocal in its absolute prohibition on the use of police violence against young persons below 18 years of age.
It is vital that China implements reforms to restore Human Rights and Child Rights in China.
Freedom of Association must also be implemented in China; to ensure Civil Rights and allow independent monitoring of working conditions to uphold International Labor Law.
It is imperative that independent auditors and non-governmental labor unions can operate in China, to prevent grueling and illegal work hours; especially among schoolchildren in China, so that the UDHR and UNCRC can be restored in China.
