Dictionary of the Old Testament Prophets

It has been both a challenge and a privilege to edit this volume on the Prophets in IVP’s highly regarded series of Black Dictionaries on the Bible. The prophetic books represent a large division of the Old Testament canon and contain within them a rich variety of language, literature and ideas. For this reason, they continue to be an area of fast-moving scholarly research, attracting the attention of researchers with a wide range of interests and commitments. They have also been hugely important for theology, and in Christian interpretation have played a major part in attempts to understand the relationship between the Old and New Testaments.
