Volume Five of “The Aventari” series, "The Lady Of The Light". Orphan Vinnie and her benefactor, Star, are seized by the Dark and put to work in their factory – the ultimate death sentence. Star escapes thinking that Vinnie has died, but when she arrives home to her mother, Alessa, she finds, miraculously, that Vinnie is there.
