As hard as my decision was, leaving was the only way I could protect Taylin. Taylin had been the only person I had confided my secrets in, the only one I had let close enough to see who I really was. For so long I had been afraid of losing his presence in my life that I kept him at arm’s length before finally giving into my feelings, and now here I was at dinner with someone else on Valentine’s Day. It didn’t matter that I hated this day, it was still the most romantic day of the year and it wasn’t Taylin who was sitting across from me.
