When even an unconventional digital nomad life of travel became boring and dissatisfying, Mia Kercher got in her beat-up old car, with her cat, and set out to drive across the Asian continent. A raw and real travel memoir: revealing the inner workings of an identity falling apart, and a new one constructed from the hardships and triumphs of a wild life on the road.
At 32, Mia realized she had everything she thought she wanted, everything she'd worked so hard for: financially free in her own online business, living abroad, solo travel every month…but that life had grown stale. So she made an impulsive decision to get rid of everything, jump in the car and drive overland from Serbia to Vietnam to see what adventure and meaning lay ahead. She had nothing more than an outrageous idea, a poorly planned route, and a lust for the unknown. The car brought her through Central Asia as far as Afghanistan, where she had to leave it behind. She and her cat continued the journey across Southeast Asia by bus, on foot, and by bicycle, motorbike, boat and tuk-tuk – each new bump in the road cracking her open in ways she'd never expected…and would change her forever.
