The Word of Love

You knew of my meekness, my lowliness, my selflessness and patience, my calmness in my mighty deeds, my gentleness in my strength. You knew that each thing serves another, so does the maker of all things serve all things. You knew that each thing dies for another, so it is for me to die for all things. You knew this. But of the greatest mystery, my perfect love, which existed before the world, you could not know. Until I entered among you through flesh and blood, and I had walked among you, held your head against my breast, spoken to you with living breath, and vowed: "I will never leave you."
