The Church is Open: Advent

The Church Is Open: Advent is a cycle of liturgical fiction that welcomes readers into the waiting season of Advent. These stories explore parish life through symbols of light, loaf, and flame—motifs that remind us that the church is not only a building but a posture of grace and hospitality. Written in the rhythm of lived experience, the series honours neurodivergent presence, quiet encouragers, and the ministry of showing up. Each piece invites reflection on the themes of hope, patience, and belonging, offering gentle narratives that accompany the journey toward Christmas. This Advent collection is part of the wider Church Is Open series, where fiction becomes a doorway into resilience, presence, and the unsung courage of everyday lives.
