The Last Paladin

The event that tells the story of The Pardaillan is the secret wedding between Francis, son of the second most powerful man after the King, and Joan, the daughter of his vassal captain just despoiled by his father, who orders him to leave for war within hours after the ceremony. His brother, Henry (who raped her before) delivers her the news. He lies by telling her that Francis isn’t coming back, but he still loves her. She rejects him. So, Henry evicts, and she moves with her wet nurse. Joan is pregnant! Unbeknownst to him, Joan gives birth. The day when Francis returns, Henry kidnaps the baby helped by Pardaillan. He forces Joan to follow his charade and let him accuse her in the presence of her husband of being a harlot under the pain of the baby’s death. After learning of his wife’s misconduct, Francis disowned Joan, fights with Henry, and goes to Paris. Meanwhile, Pardaillan changes his mind and returns the baby to the mother. Without saying his name, he tells her that the snatcher’s name is Pardaillan.
