WILD BILL ELLIOTT (Gordon Nance, 1904-1965) starred in films for over a quarter of a century, mostly as a western star. He grew up ranching, roping and riding, and this prepared him for some extra work in movies in the late 1920s. He soon grew to feature roles in various films, but the western remained his best work, and in 1943 he gained the name Wild Bill Elliott, the name that would stay with him for the rest of his life and beyond. From 1938-1953 WILD BILL starred only in westerns, before finishing his acting career in various detective roles. In the Comics he appeared in 18 issues of his own title (some as part of the Four Color Series), and had appearances in Western Roundup (Dell Giants) 1952-58.
