What is the lightspeed robot test?
It was devised by Mitchell Kwok in around 2014 to test if a robot has achieved lightspeed. As you already know, a photon travels 10 times around the earth in 1 second. The test was to see if the robot can fly just as fast as a photon. The goal is the robot has to fly 10 laps around the planet in less than 1 second. According to the rules the robot can’t make any noise, 0 percent noise, even at a molecular level. This means if the robot is flying next to a piece of paper, the paper will not move as the result of the robot passing by. Furthermore the rules state that the robot can’t harm any object during its flight. This includes people, places and things -- all the way down to the molecules of each object. If even a blade of grass is destroyed during the flight, the robot has failed the test. 0 percent noise means the robot will not generate a sonic book even if it is traveling faster than the speed of sound. He has absolute control over all the atoms and its respective sub-atomic particles in his flying pathway around the earth.
To make the test even more complex, the robot has to fly on the surface of the earth and in order to avoid obstacles it has to travel in zigzag motions.
