Hurricane Katrina Survivor Stories

This is a compilation of creative writing pieces created by Ms. Triplett's seventh grade English classes during the first nine weeks of the academic year 2011-2012. The assignment was to write a first person narrative as though the student were a young person caught in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. The students conducted research on the storm and its damage and read other first person accounts before drafting, revising, peer editing, and publishing their own works. Ms. Triplett teaches at Cloverdale Aerospace Technology Conversion Charter Middle School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
