Muna Laurila is not the sort of girl to accept the status quo. So, when her village is burned to the ground one night, leaving her with a missing sister and no way of returning home, it raises a lot of questions. But time is running out, and as she attempts not only to find her sister but stay one step ahead of the ruthless Captain Maeve Tantillin and the Dark Army that are after her, she starts to ask the question of who she can really trust. And that includes all the strange, wonderful and downright monstrous creatures she is about to meet along the way.
