Ripe Chokecherry Moon

This is Book 1 in the 4 Moon series. A love story rich in the pageantry of the fur trade era, when boundaries were uncharted and large companies fought for dominance. A historical romance set in the Lake Superior Wilderness, in the Minnesota Territory, in 1860. A story of a family connected by murder, revenge, and passion, but mainly a story of a family from two different worlds, who find love and purpose in the Minnesota Wilderness. Merewyn: Kidnapped heiress to McKenna Furs, finds herself about to be sold to the highest bidder....Francois: A legendary fur trader, must deliver furs to Grand Portage in the midst of a trade war between Hudson Bay, Northwest and American furs and has little time to deal with an English woman in the wilderness, and then there's Dumas Beuparlant: A man who vows to avenge his father's death, even if he has to kill every member of the Benoit family. And finally: Poor Eyes, Jean Batiste, Joseph, and Kenneth McKenna, four of the strangest companions on the Voyageur's highway. This novel combines authentic history, unique humorous characters, murder, mayhem, and mystery. This is book one, in the Moon series by Patty Johnson.
