The Character No One Could Invent
The Evidence of Jesus’ Deity in the Portrait Itself
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
What if the strongest evidence for who Jesus was isn't found in miracles or
prophecy — but in the man Himself?
The four Gospels present a character so consistent, so original, and so far
above His biographers that no human explanation accounts for Him. The men who
wrote about Jesus misunderstood Him, feared when He was calm, and fled when He
stood firm. Yet somehow they produced a portrait no dramatist has ever
matched.
This book examines Jesus from every angle — as a literary creation, a
mythological figure, a product of His culture, a teacher, a reformer — and
demonstrates that He fails every test for human invention. He violates the
laws of myth. He exceeds the capacity of His authors. He differs from every
figure who came before or after.
The argument is cumulative and the conclusion unavoidable: either this
character was real, or we face a miracle greater than any He performed — the
creation of a fiction more convincing than fact.
Based on the classic Christian apologetic The Man of Galilee by Atticus G.
Haygood (1889), with the argument refreshed for the modern reader and grounded
in the New American Standard Bible.
