The Be Yourself Series books are Easy Reading Chapter Books for ages 7-9 Messy Mary is the first book in the Be Yourself Series It was the first day of school for the students of Oceanview Elementary School. Second grader, Mary Rose Bell walked into her classroom. She was glad that Miss Brown was going to be her teacher. As she looked around the classroom, Mary spotted Anthony Baker. Mary knew she was in for another horrible year. Be Yourself Series is about five girls and the boy who makes their days at school not very fun. They all attend Oceanview Elementary School and are in Miss Brown's second grade class. Take a fun-filled ride with them as they try to deal with the everyday dilemmas that young children face; at home and at school.
